36C and Weight Distribution: Why Band Position Makes All the Difference

For a 36C, the band is responsible for carrying approximately 80-90% of the breast weight. This makes proper band positioning critical for both comfort and long-term breast health. When the band sits level around the ribcage -- parallel to the floor -- it distributes the weight evenly across the larger surface area of the torso, reducing localized pressure points.

The most common mistake with a 36C band is wearing it too loose or allowing it to ride up the back. When the band rides up, the straps compensate by digging into the shoulders, creating the characteristic shoulder grooves that many women mistakenly accept as normal. A properly fitted 36 band should feel snug -- you should be able to slip two fingers under it, no more -- and it should stay in place without riding up when you raise your arms.

Check your band position by looking in a mirror from the side. If the back of the band is higher than the front, tighten the straps or move to a tighter hook. A level band is the single most important factor in bra comfort at 36C.
